Disruption can come in many forms. This panel will review prior predictions and take a view toward the evolution of investment management. The discussion will touch upon various themes including the technology evolution, ecosystem disruption and workforce of the future.

Amanda Walters (Moderator)

Principal, Casey Quirk

Amanda is a principal at Casey Quirk, a Deloitte business. She leads complex strategy engagements for traditional and alternative asset management firms. She advises clients globally on investment quality, business benchmarking, operating model design, long-term strategic planning, and change management. Amanda also advises management teams on the strategic rationale for potential merger & acquisition activity and provides support for integration planning and execution. 

Amanda leads Casey Quirk’s proprietary benchmarking initiative, Performance Intelligence. She works closely with CFOs and finance teams to identify potential areas of overspend or underinvestment. Amanda is a co-author of many of Casey Quirk’s thought leadership pieces, is often cited in industry publications, and presents at global industry conferences.

Prior to joining Casey Quirk, Amanda was a senior consultant at IBM Global Business Services in the business analytics and optimization practice area. Amanda graduated from Georgetown University with a bachelor’s degree in finance and management.

Dan Houlihan

President, STP Investment Services

Prior to joining STP Investment Services, Dan spent over fifteen years serving in executive leadership positions at Northern Trust. Most recently he was Executive Vice President and Head of Asset Servicing for the Americas. Prior to Northern Trust, Dan was a founding partner of Citisoft, a leading advisory consulting firm to global financial services and technology firms. Dan served as President of Citisoft where he was responsible for their North American business.

Dan also had roles at Thomson Financial Services and investment operations and trading roles at Loring, Wolcott & Coolidge, a Trust Company in Boston. In addition to his direct work and leadership experience, Dan served as Chairman of Nicsa, sits on multiple non-profit Boards and is a frequent speaker and author on complex industry topics across operations and technology.

Eric Stacy

Head of Front & Middle Office Product & Strategy, Northern Trust

Eric is the Global Product Lead for Front and Middle Office solutions across NT's Asset Servicing Business. In this role, Eric is responsible for helping develop and execute product strategies and capabilities for our asset manager and asset owner clients. Areas of focus include, investment operations outsourcing, investment data sciences and leveraging technology to streamline operations and reduce costs.

Prior to joining the product organization, Eric held a number of business strategy functions within the Asset Servicing organization, focused on technology strategy and platform operations.

Eric joined Northern Trust from Ernst & Young, where he was a Senior Manager in the global Financial Services Risk Management practice.

Eric has a Bachelor of Science degree from University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and MBA from Washington University in St. Louis.

Allison Weaver

Vice President, Operations Strategy and Performance Delivery, Fidelity Investments

Allison Weaver has over thirty years of success in leading global operations supporting Investment Management, Global Custody, Personal/Corporate Trust services and Commercial Banking. The breadth of her experience includes running day-to-day global operations, operational risk management, strategic program management and operational strategy, planning and communications. Allison is deeply respected for her effective and compassionate leadership.

Allison currently heads the Strategy, Planning and Communications team of a critical operations business within Fidelity Investments. In this capacity, she drives a group of subject matter experts to develop a “look ahead” strategy and collectively forge the path of asset management operations into the future.

Prior to Fidelity Investments, Allison directed global securities and commercial banking operations with JPMorgan and its predecessors for over 20 years. Many of her roles centered around influencing and driving change. Drawing on her vast knowledge of operational capabilities, Allison installed new global footprints in India, Brazil, and Ireland, and transformed business models to achieve scale and efficiency.

Now, and throughout her career, Allison has been active in several employee resource and special interest groups and serves as a mentor and career coach for other associates. Extending stewardship to her community, Allison was elected mayor of her town and served on both the Council and Planning and Zoning Commission. She is most proud of establishing a part-time police department and municipal court during her tenure as mayor.

Allison holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas and is a certified Treasury Professional (CTP) and Project Management Professional (PMP). She and her husband live in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
