Democratization of Private Assets

Recorded On: 12/14/2022

On both sides of the Atlantic, enhanced access to private markets for non-institutional investors is a hot topic. The discussion has various possible angles.

In Europe, ELTIF is the buzzword that encapsulates the discussion around democratized access to private assets, but the initiative behind it (the European Long-Term Investment Fund framework equipped with a cross-border passport) is just one example of the general tendency of bringing together non-institutional investors and less-liquid, longer-term investments generally. Among other things, opportunities in infrastructure play a major role in these initiatives.

U.S. sponsors are also looking with interest into the opportunities provided by the ELTIF 2.0 review, while also considering other options such as semi-liquid fund platforms to access retail investors. Our panel will look into some of the trends and opportunities around the democratization of private market.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain knowledge of available investment products
  • Learn about marketing requirements toward retail investors
